Eagles Nest in Santa Rosa County, FL

    In this part one of this weeks lab assignment, I needed to pinpoint the locations of three known eagles nest in Santa Rosa County, Florida. First, I created an Excel spreadsheet with the locations of these three eagles nest using latitude and longitude. The next step was to apply the decimal degrees conversion formula to get the X and Y coordinates needed for the locations of the three eagles nest. Then began the fun part, adding the data to ArcGIS Pro to create our map. Each black dot represents an eagles nest. This lab assignment helped to understand the decimal degrees conversion formula and how we use it in GIS to insert data into a map. I know this map may not seem like much but it is import to understand the steps it took to get to this point such as creating data in excel to add to a map as data is not going to always be handed out.
